FEMININE FUNGI
​Feminine Fungi is a fantasy where subjects have been taken over by fungi spreading around the body to create feminine fungi creatures. Unlike cordyceps invading and killing ants and other insects, Feminine Fungi is not a hostile takeover, but a symbiotic merger creating strong feminist creatures. The visual inspiration comes from the fungi of Scandinavia collected through photos of the forest floor in Sweden and Denmark. The lamellae of the fungi becomes an armour that grows around the feminine body diverting the male gaze and playing with femininity in an abstract and fantastical way.
